Pte (Retd) Michelle Bourdon

Having dabbled in the educational and health care fields, Michelle proudly joined the Canadian Armed Forces. During training and an unfortunate fall, Michelle suffered several injuries, which would later cause her to be medically released from the military.

In her passion for serving her country, she traded her CADPAT and combat boots for skirts and pumps and continued to work for the Department of National Defence as a Public Servant. Dedicating 15 years to the Department of National Defence, Michelle's accumulating ailments forced her to retire and begin to take care of herself.

After participating in the four-week Michael G. DeGroote Intensive Pain Program, Michelle is now dedicated to her physical, mental and emotional well-being, putting to practice many of the tools learned in the Pain Program. With the encouragement of her three adult daughters, grand-son, and best friend Richard, she now has renewed hope and optimism for a better quality of life.
